Full Day Preschool
A good pre-school joins the home in providing the best possible preparation for the rest of life. Home and school should work together for better understanding of each child's needs, and to guide them in learning about the world around them and their place in it.
Our School Offers:
A well rounded program that gives opportunities for active, quiet indoor and outdoor play. Exploration of the physical world includes experimentation with art, media, and other creative materials. A dramatization of everyday experiences, rest, music, stories and conversation all come together for a worthwhile, exciting day. This flexible program is made possible by our well-equipped, safe and healthful environment, which is carried out by warm, friendly teachers who are willing to discuss your child's development needs
A Typical Day
We provide child care Monday through Friday every week except for the days which we are closed as indicated.
A daily schedule gives children the stability and security they need early on in life. That's why we strive to provide a stable framework that adds structure to our daily lives
but also leaves plenty of room for spontaneous and additional activities.
Nap time is provided for younger children. Provisions are made for older children, or those who have grown out of naps.
Parent Involvement
Successful teamwork between parents and educators is important to us because it reflects on the child's development.
That's why we have a culture of teamwork at Ahrens Child Care Center. There is constant interaction between parents and educators as we plan excursions, common activities, and parties.
Preschool Daily Schedule
6:30 am - 8:30 am: Drop off, various inside play centers and outside play
9:00-11:30 am: Circle time-songs, academic worksheets (especially for ages preparing for Kindergarten) very creative crafts (painting, gluing, scissor use etc.) and lively story times
11:30 am - 12:30 pm: Lunch
12:30 pm - 2:30 pm: Nap time
(younger classes)
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm: Snack time and outside free play plus outside/play centers (blocks-legos-play animals etc.)
3:30 pm - 5:00pm: Inside play activities, coloring, recess and clean up
5:00-6:00pm Story time and play centers
6:00 pm: Facility closes
